Mizutani Scissors - ACRO Yuragi 0 LEFTY
The ACRO Yuragi's are the most popular thinning scissors, known for their "settling" ability. These non-damaging and non-stress thinning scissors have a soft bite and a smooth withdrawal from the hair. A stairway-like shape was designed into the point of the comb blade that rolls as the hair cuts, helping to achieve that natural settling feel in the hair and giving it that "lived-in" look.
Model Differences
Yuragi 0 LEFTY (21 Teeth / Cutting Ratio 10%):
The ACRO Yuragi 0 LEFTY very gently removes only 10% of the hair with each cut allowing for a precise shaping and the perfect sculpted look.
Yuragi 04 LEFTY (21 Teeth / Cutting Ratio 15-20%):
The ACRO Yuragi 04 LEFTY removes slightly more hair at 15% but still creates a delicate finish leaving fine blending for a sensitive texture.
Yuragi 06 LEFTY (19 Teeth / Cutting Ratio 25-30%):
The ACRO Yuragi 06 LEFTY gives a moderately aggressive blending without leaving blocky- end notches and excels at creating depth while removing bulk.
Yuragi 10 LEFTY (16 Teeth / Cutting Ratio 35-40%):
The ACRO Yuragi 10 LEFTY works as an aggressive blender, removing up to 40% of the hair.

EXTRAMARISE® is a proprietary heat treatment ideally suited for haircutting scissors that was developed by MIZUTANI based on long years of accumulated data and experience. The same steel material can have totally different performance depending on the heat treatment used. Therefore, to maximize the special qualities of the rare metals (cobalt, molybdenum, vanadium, etc.) we’ve added to our products to the greatest extent possible, and achieve the ideal metal for scissors, (*hardening, tempering, sub-zero processing) and other complete temperature management procedures are essential. To bring out the distinct characteristics of materials, and manufacture a blade with the ultimate strength required for haircutting scissors, we at MIZUTANI have implemented our own proprietary heat treatment using the ideal temperature for scissors: EXTRAMARISE® processing.
