Description

Advanced Repair

For scissors with nicks, chips, damaged tips, alignment problems after a drop, or blade geometry affected by previous sharpening. We assess the condition of your pair and carry out corrective work where appropriate.

Service includes ultrasonic cleaning, necessary adjustments, applicable parts replacement and scissor oil applied inside the blades. We will ask for your approval before any additional work or charges.

Some damage or excessive material removal cannot be restored. If you are unsure whether your pair can be repaired, email clear photos to hello@mizutaniscissors.ca before purchasing or sending it.

If you purchase repair and only sharpening is needed, we will refund the $40 difference to your original payment method.

After you purchase

  1. Open your order confirmation email and complete the Sharpening & Repair Intake Form. Complete one form per pair, using the same Shopify order number for all pairs in that order.
  2. Enter the complete return shipping address and describe the issue. Add clear photos, especially for visible damage or previous sharpening problems.
  3. Secure the closed tips lightly with an elastic and the handles with a twist-tie. Use the Mizutani sleeve if available, wrap each pair in bubble wrap and place it in a secure padded parcel.
  4. Include your name and Shopify order number inside the parcel. Label each pair so we can match it to its intake form, then keep your shipping tracking number.

Service timing

Allow approximately 4–6 weeks after both your completed intake form and scissors are received. Timing can vary with service volume and assessment findings. Purchasing the service does not start the service timeline.

Customers are responsible for shipping scissors to our service centre. For questions about return delivery or shipping charges, contact hello@mizutaniscissors.ca before sending.
