Scissors Sharpening Policy

All our scissors sharpening services are sent out to our Certified Mizutani Sharpening.  Whether it is a simple edge refresh or complete geometry make over, our sharpening is uniquely qualified to correctly sharpen your shears using methods of Mizutani Scissors Japan, as performed in the last 100 years, starting in 1921.


Quality Assurance

We take pride in providing high-quality sharpening services to our customers. In the rare event that you are unsatisfied with the sharpened scissors, we offer a re-do policy to ensure your complete satisfaction.

Eligibility for Re-Do


To be eligible for a re-do, please ensure that the following criteria are met:

  • The sharpened scissors must be in the same condition as when they were received.
  • The re-do request must be made within 3 days of receiving the sharpened scissors.
  • The original order number or proof of purchase must be provided.

Re-Do Process


If you believe that your sharpened scissors require further attention, please follow these steps:

  • Contact our customer support team within 3 days of receiving the sharpened scissors to request a re-do.
  • Provide the necessary information, including your order number or proof of purchase, and describe the specific issue or concern you have with the sharpened scissors.
  • Our customer support team will guide you through the re-do process, including any additional information or documentation required.

Evaluation and Resolution

  • Evaluation: Once the re-do request is received, we will carefully evaluate the sharpened scissors to determine if they require further sharpening or adjustments.
  • Resolution: If it is determined that the sharpened scissors did not meet the desired level of sharpness or other specified criteria, we will proceed with the necessary steps to address the issue promptly.

Re-Sharpening or Adjustments

  • Re-Sharpening: If the sharpened scissors require further sharpening, we will re-sharpen them to meet the desired level of sharpness, taking utmost care to address any specific concerns mentioned in your re-do request.
  • Adjustments: In some cases, adjustments other than re-sharpening may be required based on the nature of the issue identified. We will make the necessary adjustments to ensure your satisfaction.

Return Shipping

  • If a re-do is approved, we will cover the return shipping costs for you to send the scissors back to us.
  • We may provide you with a prepaid shipping label or arrange for a pickup, depending on the circumstances.
  • Timeframe for Re-Do: Please initiate the re-do process within 3 days of receiving the sharpened scissors. Re-do requests made after this period may not be accepted.
