The NEW SWORD DB-21 LEFTY represents a complete evolution of Mizutani's iconic SWORD line. This redesigned model incorporates advanced Nano Powder Metal technology and refined engineering across every component from the blade geometry to the bearing system.

The ergonomically enhanced handle features a contoured grip that naturally accommodates finger positioning for superior control and reduced fatigue during extended use. Precision-honed blades deliver clean, accurate cuts with minimal effort, while the integrated design balances functional performance with aesthetic refinement. Building on the SWORD series' proven legacy, this generation combines time-tested reliability with contemporary innovation and craftsmanship.

The SWORD DB-21 LEFTY is engineered with Nano Powder Metal, the most advanced form of steel. Its highly precise bearing system guarantees optimal cutting accuracy. Additionally, a thrust bearing is embedded in the screw, giving the model a light, whisper-like touch and a smooth open/close, taking the strain off hairstylists' hands.

Triple round shape

The NEW SWORD DB-21 LEFTY features Mizutani's distinctive triple-round blade geometry, a proprietary design that incorporates three curved surfaces instead of the conventional single plane.

This architectural approach creates an arch-like structure that amplifies cutting force and enhances the blade's ability to penetrate and sever hair cleanly. The innovative three-surface configuration delivers superior performance while maintaining the refined aesthetic that distinguishes this professional-grade instrument.

The SWORD DB-21 LEFTY is equipped with an ergonomic handle that limits wrist discomfort and a resilient blade strengthened with Nano Powder Metal Technology which can easily handle course hair when doing scissors over comb works. This provides hairdressers and barbers with the support they need when cutting a lot of male customers' hair - an important factor for the barbers at "Schorem" who contributed to the development of the SWORD DB-21 LEFTY and highly recommend it.

Our Nano Powder Metal®, manufactured via Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP), is a specialized steel fabricated from nano-level powder. This powder is subjected to intense heating and pressure tempering, eliminating unnecessary filler and impurities. Used to produce precision items like Blu-ray disc molds, it demands exceptionally high levels of purity. At MIZUTANI SCISSORS, we conducted our own research into this material to create the perfect hair-scissors: strong blades that maintain sharpness and longevity.

: THRUST BALL BEARING
These metal ball bearings show exceptional axial load-bearing capacity. Their unique design also provides radial load-bearing capabilities, resulting in smoother opening and closing of scissors, reducing strain on the user's hands while lengthening the cutting life. Crafted with anti-corrosive features and superior longevity, these bearings are proudly manufactured in Japan..

: ORGANIC DESIGN
The handles are so designed that they look nonmetallic, alive and organic. You may feel some warmth from the three-dimensional, twisted handles, and once touched, you would not like to part them from your hand.

: DISK DRIVER
Compact and easy to turn, this is a flat type driver for UFO screws. This screwdriver is included with all scissors with the mark shown.

Care and sharpening
