The SWORD DB-20 LEFTY is made of Nano Powder Metal, the next generation of steel. A highly precise bearing system provides unparalleled accuracy in cutting making it a true all-around scissor. The added thrust bearing to the screw gives this model a gentle, whisper-light touch and a smooth feel when opening and closing, ensuring support for hairstylists' tired hands.
They can also be used for scissors over comb and cutting bristly hair!
The latest ingredient in our materials is “Nano Powder Metal”. Also used in the ACRO Type-Z, this special material has now been adopted in our SWORD series, further expanding the potential this line. The DB-20 is completed with our famous join and wrist pain issues prevention handle as well as a robust blade that can easily handle scissors over comb thanks to the effects of the Nano Powder Metal. This ensures support for hair dressers whose hands get tired from cutting the hair of many male customers. The DB-20 receives great praise from the staff of barbers at "Schorem", who cooperated in its development.

Nano Powder Metal
Our Nano Powder Metal®, made with the new HIP manufacturing method (Hot Isostatic Pressing), is steel fabricated from a fine powder at the nano level. The uniform-grained powder is hardened with high temperature and pressure tempering, essentially eliminating all filler and impurities, and this method is used in precision manufacturing items like Blu-ray disc molds, where high levels of purity are required. At MIZUTANI, in order to create the ideal hair-cutting scissors, we have conducted our own proprietary research with this material, and created scissors with blades that combine strength with a long cutting life and the ultimate sharpness.

THRUST BALL BEARING
These are small, precision metal ball bearings with excellent axial load-bearing ability. Due to their design, which enables radial load-bearing as well, scissors open and close smoothly, which both lessens burden on the hands and contributes to a long cutting life. With anti-rust properties and durability as a matter of course, these bearings are a Japanese-made product.
