Here are questions from Chang of Toronto, Canada:
What are the differences between the Ichi-Nino-San series and the Cronos series?
Here is the reply by Martin, our Canadian Mizutani scissors fitter:
Hi Chang,
Thank you for your continuing support with Mizutani Scissors Canada.
In terms of both the Ichi-Nino-San series and Cronos series, they both uses cobalt alloy forged through a proprietary heating process called Extramarise. In terms of cobalt density of the alloy, they are very similar.
However...

Designed for volume control and for creating direct texture upon contact. It has a 15~25% hair cutting ratio and leaves no demarcation lines.
Ichi-Nino-San 4
Designed for volume control and direct texture upon contact. It has a 15~25% hair cutting ratio and leaves a natural soft and airy blend.
Cronos Series
A New Cutting Philosophy
Developed in collaboration with Mr. Kazuya Kubo of BAGZY from Japan
The Cronos series was developed to improve the haircut speed by simplifying the user's cutting techniques - an important facet for both novice or experienced barbers and stylists alike when training.
"It is surprisingly difficult to adjust hair texture with the all-round 25% thinning scissors that many barbers/hairstylists use. If the stylist is inexperienced, the ends of the hair strands will be too thin, but the roots will stay thick. When the hair grows back, it often loses its style.
I thought up a system of using three types of thinning scissors:
50%
9%
3%
By using each of these thinning scissors the right way, we can target and tackle each hair types' needs. We created an educational tool that gives motivation to professionals and students."
